Bob Palmer

Vice President of National Hub Operations, Federal Express

Bob Palmer, Vice President of National Hub Operations since 1992, has been with Federal Express over 23 years.  An alumnus of the University of Kentucky, he started as a maintenance mechanic with FedEx in the Memphis Hub and has held numerous management positions in Ground Operations, Properties, and Hub Operations.

Bob leads the management teams at the Indianapolis National Hub, the Anchorage International Hub, the National Hub at the Alliance Airport, north of Ft. Worth, Texas, and the future Greensboro Hub in North Carolina.

Bob is actively involved with many community organizations.  He is a board member of the Private Industry Council, Indianapolis Regional Economic Development Partnership, the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Kelly School of Business Curriculum Board and University of Indianapolis Advisory Board. 

Under Bob’s guidance, the IND Hub has partnered with various schools/universities.  The IND Hub has continuing relationships with IU, University of Indianapolis, Purdue, and other local educational institutions.
