Northwest Indiana Forum
Vincent Galbiati is president and chief executive officer for the Portage-based Northwest Indiana Forum, a position he has held since January 2005. The forum is a privately funded, nonprofit regional economic development organization that serves Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties.
The Forum represents more than $40 billion dollars in commerce. At its foundation, the role of the Forum is to convene decision-makers and facilitate all aspects of economic development to assist companies locating or expanding in Northwest Indiana.
Galbiati's career has been spent in corporate finance and accounting, project management, raw materials trading and business development. He had middle management, senior and executive positions for American Express, Inland Steel Industries, (ArcelorMittal Steel Corp.), Koch Industries, and GATX Capital before creating a management company that focused on corporate turnarounds, merger and acquisitions and structured finance.
Galbiati attended Valparaiso University for undergraduate studies and Indiana University for his masters of business administration degree. He serves as a board of director to Porter-Strake Services and is active in community affairs. He is married to Lynda Galbiati, a teacher in the Valparaiso Community School Corp. and they have three children.
